I have two kids one in middle school and other one in high school. Unfortunately the educational system of US hasn’t been design to makes kids ready for their real life. The most important part of the life for learning is school age and the thing kids are learning in these ages hardly wipe out from their mind. If we look at biography of successful people in any arena we will realize that they start their success from their childhood, but I am seeing in my kids, as a sample of most kids is different.
I am not opposed against having somebody teach my kids but I like my kids learn by themselves and their teachers be the real the one who we like our kids be like them.
I used to teach in different level and for different group of people. But for teaching the life the real life should be teacher not a specific person. I like my kids see the real human world from the view of the people who I like my kids follow them.
My kids went to Kuman for about two years to learn Math and English. That was good but Math and English is not everything? How many of your remember those hard formula and algebra that your teacher and parent forced you to do it. How many times in your life have you seen any of those formulas?
The parents thought that solving hard Algebra and math formula will help the kids to learn logic and or train their brain. In my view it is not very wrong but as you know many of our real life problems is not logic at all and there is not logic solution for them. Canalizing our kids to think like a calculator or follow some predefine formula is not the best way to survive in any society. Most of our action and thought is from our feeling and or unconscious that we cannot see any logic for them and if we are target of the feeling of somebody we cannot find a logical reason for it. Yes everything has a reason and logic but these logic and reason are most of the time so hidden and or complex that it is absolutely not easy to find it. When you see somebody and at the first glance you like him or her or you try not to continue with him or her. What is the logic behind this one glance decision? You need to go back, dig his or her psychiatry and so and so to find out the reason of it. Is it possible, yes it is but it is practical no, absolutely no it is not practical at all? Imagine if we like to find the reason of people actions and feeling.
The other part of this scenario is ours. How logic we are? How predictive we are? And is it good to have a logic and predictive personality? It depend who you want to be but overall at least for many people who want to abuse or misuse other people we should present our defensive personality or even our play like an actor against them.
The reality is something else; it is not science, math, chemistry, and computer. These are the tools that we interact with our nature and environment not necessarily our human environments.
